    Turning off touchpad

How to turn off the laptop touchpad in Windows 10?  Not finding a way in Mouse and Touchpad in Settings, except maybe uninstalling the driver???

We need to know which laptop it is...they usually have switches or key combos.

    No matter which Win version.

      Actually it's 2 different laptops:

      Asus X553SA-BHCLN10

      Toshiba C655-S5504

It's FN F9 on the Toshiba to turn on/off...

Not sure about the ASUS so check your Manual.

While on the topic, I've often wondered if there are a gazillion keyboard shortcuts I don't know about, beyond Ctl-C, Ctl-V.   Are they standardized, and where to find out about them?

For example you used to be able to lock the machine with Ctl-Alt-Del, then Alt-L.  At some point this stopped working and now you have to switch to the mouse to lock things down.

FN9 works fine if you only want to disable it currently and don't mind toggling it every time.  Sometimes the driver for the touchpad includes a setting whereas if it detects that an external mouse is connected, it will automatically turn the touchpad off.

Here's the setting on my Toshiba, maybe your laptops have it as well:
