Please insert a disk into Secure Digital storage device
« on: May 28, 2016, 11:58:58 AM »
Hello people of the internet,

A little while ago I wanted to transfer some files from my Micro SD card
to a Computer. for this I used an adapter which usually works really well.
Well, it didn't!  >:(  (Congratulations! my Frustration Level increased by 10!)
So I put my MSD back into my laptop (got an MSD slot on it) and got the following message/ error;
"Please insert a disk into Secure Digital storage device (D:)" (frustration Level up to 40 now!)  >:(
tried to figure it out on my own for aout ten minutes then checked around on the internet.
Found out that the problem is quite common for Windows users and that you just have to assign another letter to the Device.
But when I tried that it contiunued to give me the same error over and over again.  >:( :||x
I can't access my files and photos anymore which is really frustrating.

I am running out of ideas and patience so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes another letter is the method. I usually use a letter that is far away from others such as Z: this way when other USB devices are connected and mounted with a drive letter it wont stomp onto Z: unless you have C thru Y: in use and Z is next available. I ran into this issue with a 7 in 1 card reader that supported the various size flash media.

You have to give it a Volume Label in disk management so it retains the drive letter designation no matter which device it's plugged to ...
