How do I get rid of script?
    « on: July 16, 2016, 07:39:38 PM »
    Hi  -
I get the following message:  Suddenlink.net  (that is my provider) is not responding due to a long running script.  How do I get rid of a long running script?   I am using Windows 7  and IE  11.  Any suggestions?      Bob

    Some more detail is needed.
    When did this start?
What happens if you shut down and restart?
Can you try it in safe mode with networking?
    Have you tried another browser?
Do you have an Anti-Virus program ?

I admit that was a quick ask for help.  I tried to give a screen shot of detail that was shown but I did not know how. To answer your questions:  The problem has been present for several weeks but I have ignored it.  This happens randomly.  I run Avest for my virus control.  I have not tried another browser.  I will try save mode and let you know.  Thanks for your reply.     Bob

I used safe mode twice and both times I got a page which said:  You are not connected to a net work.  When I turn the computer on in the usual manner I get the usual home page.  I will try Google Chrome.    I called suddenlink and they say it is my problem but I asked for a tech on Tuesday.       Bob

        bobhlgh,
OK, you are doing the right thing. our network does not work in safe mode. So let's try using a different browser.
There are a number of browsers one can try. Here is a short list.

        BlackHawk
        Chrome
        Firefox
        Internet Explorer, versions 6, 7, and 8
        Opera
        Safari
        Sea Monkey

I tried Chrome and did not get any "suddenlink is not working".  I'll use it a couple of days to see if it stays working.  I don't want to change but I can if it solves the problem.  Thanks for your help.    Bob
