    Blocked IP address
    « on: April 12, 2016, 02:13:11 PM »
I get the following message when trying to post to a user group:

"Your IP 76.180.xxx.xxx has been blocked because it is blacklisted. For details please see http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?"

The IP (number scrambled) is my router. Spamhause is of no help. neither are any of the other address block removal sites. This problem only happens with one group (I can post to all others). I contacted that group and they tell me "they have no record of my the address being blocked on their site".

Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this?
    Thanks. Jim B.

Only thing you can do is contact the site...
Blacklisting usually happens for a reason.

P.S. if they say they have no record of it they haven't looked hard enuff...

    I did a Google on:
    who is spamhaus.org?
    ...and found this:
    https://www.spamhaus.org/lookup/5

The site claims to be part of a project to block SPAM sites.

The Spamhaus Project is an international organization, based in both London and Geneva, founded in 1998 by Steve Linford to track email spammers and spam-related activity. The name spamhaus, a pseudo-German expression, was coined by Linford to refer to an Internet service provider, or other firm, which spams or knowingly provides service to spammers.

Get a VPN and you can unlock the site by using a different server.
