Iam using Mozilla Firefox, Windows 7 and Microsoft Outlook 2010

Could you tell me why this appears on all the emails which arrive at other addresses please

Outlook sends the winmail.dat file if you have selected Rich Text formatting for outgoing emails. See here

I have just read the support file you sent - you mentioned "outgoing emails" - the thread mentioned "incoming emails" - so how do I change RTF on outgoing emails please?

Your outgoing emails are other people's incoming emails. You said these contain <winmail.dat>. This is because your Outlook is set to use Rich Text format for outgoing emails (ones you send out). To change outgoing mail format in Outlook 2010:

1. File
2. Options

3. Mail
4. Compose Messages in this format: (Choose HTML or Plain Text)
Unless you want your messages to look like you did them on a typewriter, choose HTML
5. OK to save default email format.

Thanks for the detailed reply.   Strnage tho, as that how it was already set?

I believe the <winmail.dat> is seen if the sender's Outlook is set to send RTF messages, and the receiver's email client cannot handle them, so maybe it only affects some of the people you are sending emails to. If you are in a corporate situation, maybe some of your contacts have had some kind of upgrade or change, or your (or their) the IT systems have been altered.

Mainly emails to my daughter, she thought I was sending a virus lol
But they show on my emails from her.     I'll ask her anyway.
