I have been trying in vain to edit a scanned document in WORD.  I use windows 10 and Microsoft 2013.
Am told that the Microsoft Office Document Imaging tool is not available in Windows 10, but the simplest method I came across on the internet directs me to open this imaging tool to be able to edit the scanned documents in WORD.

Is there a solution, please?  I nearly got a headache from my persistent but vain efforts.

Lastly, if possible give me step-by-step directions, as I am still a newbie in this matter.

    Many thanks.

Guzeppi, let me make assumption. You want to scan a paper document and then be able to edit the text of that document to make a new document. Is that correct?

If so, the paper to text t conversion should be done by the scanner. Most modern scanners have the ability to scan a document and prepare text for export to RTF or some version of Word. This is often called OCR software.

Here is a video of scanner that does this:

Both Cannon and Epson make low-cost scanners that do the  same.

Thank you, Geek, for prompt reply.  Have downloaded OCR, but when I tried to use it, a message on my Acer laptop said that my pc does not recognise OCR.

      Is there, perhaps, another method?

      Thanks again.

Heard today that in several months Microsoft will be charging $7.00 per month for you to use Windows 10.  True?  How do I go back to Widows 8?

Back to topic. The OP wants to read a document into Word format.

If some OCR tool is not on the computer, you can get a free version that will work.

I heard that eggs are going up by $.75 a dozen. Is that true? BTW, what did OP want to know? (Sorry, could not help myself).

Venezuela has multiple exchange rates- there are international/shipping exchange rates which are 10 bolivars per dollar, and the domestic exchange rate which is around 528 bolivars per dollar, A dozen eggs costs around 1500 but in terms of buying power it is the same as around 3$ USD.
