Hard Drive Detect/ Windows Load Problem
« on: November 30, 2005, 04:14:52 PM »
Hey I'm having a problem with my hard drive loading windows.
I was switching through old hard drives to recover old data. When  i tried to put my main hard drive back in it wouldn't load.
It won't detect at all unless you go into setup and set both drive slots to auto detect and then when its does detect it will go past the mother board load screen then sit at a blank screen with a blinking underscore.
My boot disk doesn't work.
I can load the hard drive properly if i put in another drive as the main and load it as a secondary but the older drives don't integrate with my current hardware well at all and i can't access the cd drives that way.

Well thats the state of things and if anyone has advice or a solution please e-mail me or post at your earliest convenience.

If this is XP load the Recovery Console and type - fixboot

You can find the other commands by typing - help - at the prompt.

XP INFO
