Windows Activation
« on: December 01, 2005, 02:12:40 PM »
Windows XP recently prompted me to activate it even though I've been using it for 2 years now.  When I tried to reactivate it using the old code windows told me the code was not valid.  Now it says windows will no longer run after 2 more weeks.  What should I do?

Do you have the original winxp cd and is it legal?  Why or how were you prompted to activate?  Have you added new hardware and what do you mean by old code?

G1:

Call the phone number that appears in the Windows Activation display.  When you reach the Microsoft support technician, explain the problem.  She will ask you for the product key (it will on the sticker affixed to the case of your computer, or with the booklet that came with your Microsoft Windows XP CD).

The tech will give you a code to enter to unlock your operating system.
