    delete searches
    « on: November 10, 2016, 05:51:29 PM »
To delete searches, I know that I need to use 'delete history' etc. But I can't find out how to delete drop down searches I've made on websites. Ex: If I'm on freeonlinegames.com, there's a search window. If I click on it, a lot of searches I've made in the past are there, including those not even made on that site and unrelated to games...like there will be a restaurant search or a search for a recipe.

This happens on quite a few websites and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason - some sites will have a lot of entries, some will have a few, others will have nothing. And deleting history, cookies, or even autocomplete doesn't get rid of these.

    Anyone?

Ok can I reply to myself for you guys to read?

I absolutely am baffled. After posting that question, I went back to that site and clicked on 'search' and didn't get the drop down list of previous searches. Maybe it's that "pop" I've heard about - you post a question and seemingly by virtue of asking it, it answers itself.

Never mind  -as Gilda Radner would have said.

You could try using CCleaner's Cleaner utility.  When open CCleaner's Cleaner utility, click Applications in the upper left part of the panel and take a careful look at the items selected under your browser(s).
