    hard drive enclosure

    with a hd enclosure,  where do you set the jumper on the pc hd and where on the ext. hd?

      You will find the jumper located on the rear of the hard drive ......and there should be the option of setting the jumper to :

        Master
        Slave
        Cable Select

      Hmmm, i never thought of that.  The hard drive enclosure lets you connect an IDE HDD via a USB port.  My guess is the jumper setting would not matter, but i may be wrong.

         jjon......With all due respect ....you asked "where do you set the jumper on the pc hd "  and "where on the ext. hd?"   using where suggests a location ......As a result , I responed , telling you where on the Hard drive the jumper is located .

        External HDD's should be jumpered to master...
