    also get rid of those cheap plastic speakers, put decent stereo speakers and you'll enjoy great sound  :)

      Yep, that is the same card I got for my XP system. It works well. However, one thing worth noting is it has a connector for the front-panel, but it is a non-standard one, so it only works with the rather hard-to-find 5-1/4" installable front panel that has a bunch of connections and knobs and stuff- and you can't use it with a normal front-panel audio header.

      Do you know where I can find one of these front panels?

      eBay or other online sellers. The main problem is that there aren't as many Front-panels as there are cards; The installable Front-panel was only included with their "Platinum" model.

      Unfortunately as a result they tend to go for a pretty silly amount of Money.

        the Ensoniq sound card is the PCI ES1370 PCI card :)
