HELP!..... All I get is a blank screen.

Earlier while I was working on my laptop the charger cord came loose, so I went to plug it back in, and my screen went blank!
It turned the computer back on, it came up, and said "Compaq" as usual and then the screen went blue, and stayed there, it never came up to the normal screen with icons and everything, just stayed totally blue
Can anybody tell me how to fix this? is my computer totally shot?

It is a Compaq armada 1750.

Musigal.... Have you tried rebooting into the "SAFE" mode to see if it will startup that way .

Ok, I think I  worded my first post wrong.

I cant do that.
my computer basically goes dead.
Sometimes it doesnt even show a blue screen, it shows it black or grey. It acts as if it were off, only it shows a light color as if it were on, its not just the icons not showing up, it is a totally different screen
I really want to get this fixed if at all possible.

Try removing the battery and disconnecting from the mains.

With no power getting to the system hold the power button down for about 20 seconds.

Try connecting back to the mains ONLY.
Switch it back on.
If it loads, reconnect the battery and try booting up again. If this fails with the battery then the battery may be faulty.

It did not work
Also, above the keyboard, when I turn the computer on, there are some lights that I have never seen before.
One of the lights is a "1", then an "A" and then an arrow pointing down. Do the lights have anything to do with the problem?
