Sudden bumping shutdown
« on: December 10, 2005, 09:19:35 AM »
My computer is about a year and a half old that i built myself. The problem is that my computer shutsdown, like if i would just unplug it, when i accidently bump my computer desk. It just stared doing this about a week or so ago. I'm not talking about kicking my desk hard or anything just a gentle bump.  Ive never heard of this problem and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what i can do.
I was thinking a lose connection, mabye go though my computer and unplug and replug everything. Or maybe the power supply, which is a older one i had and is about 4 years old (300 watt).
Thanks in advance on any input.

That PSU cord can be replaced for about 5 bucks...any computer store in your area should stock them.

Sounds like a loose mains connection to me too.
