Booting from USB hard drive
« on: December 13, 2005, 11:14:58 AM »
I am interested in installing Linux onto an external USB hard drive so I can run two different operating systems.  However, I have heard that the computer has to be USB bootable, and I don't know if my computer is "USB bootable" or not.  Does anyone know how I can find out?

Yes find out which MBoard you have by DLoading and running Everest Home and check the MBoards website for specs...

Okay, I did that but all that it tells me is that it's a Dell Dimension 8250.  I looked at documentation for the computer and I can't find anything that talks about whether or not it is USB bootable.  I'm not sure where else to look.
