I can't get past the POST

After I start it up, I get the D-LED error: "Boot Attempt - This will set low stack and boot via INT 19h"
Then I hear the beeping.  This is what I'm so frustrated about....it isn't asking for a disk, there's nothing but a blank screen.
I can't get into CMOS

Now, this happened yesterday too.  It would just beep at me and no matter how I played around with it, it just wasn't giving in.  But I kept on disconnecing and reconnecting the cables, resetting the CMOS jumper and removing the battery and waiting for 15 minutes and finally it let me in to setup.  Not only that, but the error went away too - it was just checking the clock at that point.  Why it won't work now is beyond me.  I'm thinking there's got to be a loose connection somewhere.....

You are going no where until this is resolved.
Shut down, disconnect the power, remove the battery (10 mins), check all the cables & plugs etc.
Re-start & try for bios, set to cdrom 1st, put in w2k, save, exit, pray.

I love a man with a sense of humor!!

Okay, I've already pulled the battery and un/plugged the cables.......I'll keep at it.  Something I did yesterday worked.......I've just got to figure out what it was!

I'll get back to you (and thanks a bunch!)

Someone mentioned that this computer may be "overclocked."  I don't know much about this except that its a "term for running a CPU, video card, or other component faster than its rated speed"

      Mine is running at 1050Mhz.........

Could this have anything to do with the problem I'm having??

Did you recently build this computer?

The CMOS battery may need to be replaced if the CMOS does not retain its settings.

I wasn't there from the start, but thanks for pointing it out.

Go here for more information on Int 19H.

Instead of constantly resetting the BIOS, have you tried to manually configure it?

You mean there is a way to get past POST??

If I'm able to get into setup, I could manually reconfigure it, but so far I have not been able to get the system to boot.  Once it starts up, it runs through the POST, and then hangs - there's nothing on the screen, no option to insert a disk - nothing.....

I know what the error means, but I thought that once it gave the error, it would eventually boot or at least ask for a (boot) disk.  It doesn't do anything

But can you enter the BIOS?

I think you should look into getting a stable system before trying boot disks.

      I can't get into BIOS

I'll keep playing with it because as I said, it kept beeping at me on start up a bunch of times and I kept unplugging and plugging in the cables, removing the CMOS battery and so on, and then it finally let me in.  I just need to figure out what I did before that worked so I can do it again.

      I'll be in touch

In what sequence are the beeps played and what brand of BIOS do you have?

Its a 1 second beep in 2 second intervals.  According to the manual it means:  Boot Attempt - This will set low stack and boot via INT 19h

Award - but I never wrote down the version number
