« on: January 11, 2006, 09:03:54 AM »
I installed ArcSoft collage creator and my screen resoultion went south. I did what I think was uninstalling the software but the resolution is crappy. I tried all of the fucntions in the setting oon the control panel. 256 coloers and screen area 800X600 is the best but really poor on the screen. Others are not acceptibale.
Please help

Reinstall your video card driver. What video card do you have in that machine? If not an add-on card please give computer or motherboard make/model.

What does WIndows say in Device Manager regarding video adapter? You can also download Everest Home at this link. It will correctly identify what video adapter you have.

Is this a very old machine? What processor is in it and what operating system?

I have autozip and each time I now try to download the file you suggested I get a message which reads: setup.exe or install.exe not found, I don't understand what I am doing wrong.

If it's just a driver there may be no setup or exe file there.

Just go to Control Panel/Device Manager/Video, right click then choose properties, then pick update driver and direct it to where the download is.

I am trying to do exactly what you are telling me to do. The first time I got a message: The publisher cannot be determined due to the object to be verified is unknown to the trust provider, second attempt I got: If you have disk that contains the updated driver, click have disk. I do not have disk. Thirdly I got message: Please insert w98se cdrom, I do not have that disk, I never have had that disk I  have never needed that disk.   :(
