Windows Debug Command (IN XP)
« on: January 14, 2006, 06:56:43 PM »
I used to be able to change the keyboard lights in windows 95 and 98 by going to command prompt and entering

debug
e 0000:0417  20
q

This would change my keyboard lights depending on the hex value that I would write. However that no long works in XP. anyone know why, or how could I still be able to access that part of memory.

thank you

I guess I'm just slow, but why would you even want to do that?  ::)

excuse me for not explaining.  ;D I was trying to teach someone about the way memory addresses work.  And this was one of the things I used to pull out to show the interaction of memory with the hardware. But when I tried to demonstrate it. It seemed like XP just overrided my controll over that part of memory.  Thats why I want to know, is there any other way users could get back control.
