Unable to change number of colours available
« on: January 18, 2006, 10:00:43 AM »
Having just reloaded completely Windows 98SE with Delta DA-570 monitor operating with standard PCI graphics (VGA)adapter. I cannot get colour display to give me anything but 2/16 colours at 640x480. There are no errors on the System Device Manager. What do I have to do to access the True Colour at 600x800 as I had before?

You have to idenntify your video card and get he appropriate drivers and innstall them. What is the mystery video adapter? (Not what Windows says. It doesn't know yet.)

This may work. Are you coonected to the net? If so, sign on to the website of your video and download a fresh copy of the driver and save it to a location that you can remember. Than go to the Device Manager and click on monitor,
Open the monitor and click on it, it will say things like uninstall drive, uninstall it and install you new driver.

Hope this help. Let me know.

Richard.
