    Browser uninstall
    « on: November 20, 2019, 11:37:20 PM »
I have Windows 7 and had google chrome as browser, recently I have been getting dozens of pop-ups on the right side of the screen, I decided to change my browser to avast, but am having the same problem so I want to uninstall it but it will not let me, So now I have two problems, :'( how to stop those annoying popups and how to delete Avast, anyone got a solution? :'(

Here is a tool provided by Avast to un install and cleanup Avast Browser https://support.avast.com/en-nz/article/Uninstall-Secure-Browser

If you are getting pop ups in chrome then try running chrome in Incognito Mode as described here https://www.thewindowsclub.com/chrome-incognito-mode-safe

If the pop ups stop then you can either keep running in Incognito Mode. Or you can try resetting chrome to defaults. If still no good it could be a job for SuperDave in the Antivirus forum here .

To remove Avast antivirus they supply a tool https://www.avast.com/en-nz/uninstall-utility

Note you need to be running Windows in safe mode for it to work.

If you are still getting pop ups then let the guys in the antivirus forum look at for you.

Just a thought that came to mind: if you do have a system restore point set before the issues occurred that you're happy with, you can attempt to go backwards and restore that way.
But if nothing works then probably give a shout out to the CH malware forum if you don't want to reinstall windows from scratch.

I'm Sorry i miss read this "I uninstalled Avast ok but cannot seem to du the same with avast antivirus  as for the popup avast interferes ,  so it has to go first,"

If you are having problems with avast antivirus you can right click on the avast icon by the clock and select to suspend avast for say 15 minutes. Until it is uninstalled.  You can even stop avast till next boot.
