bing keeps popping up

When I access my homepage thru Firefox, Bing comes up and I used to just X it out, but now the X has vanished from the upper corner. How can I get rid of Bing permanently, or just get the X back?

It's likely still set as your default search tool...clik on the 4 bars upper right...Select Options...then Search....set google or whatever as your default search engine.
