Lightening apparently fried my modem and I have tried installing a new one. I can't figure out how to get it to work. How do I know which port it should be hooked to??? HELP!!

if you plug it into one of the white adapters  on the motherboard windows should find it. and then load the drivers for it..or just take the old out a put the new one in...and if you have a problem with lighting?a surge protecter is a must..
