Very strange beeping from speakers...

I'm getting very strange, morse-code-like beeping from my speakers intermittently every 15-30 mins. This just started a few hours ago. Even if I shut the volume off (not the power), I can still hear it now and then. The only cure is to turn off the speaker power. Is there some strange interference going on today, some spyware, or am I just plain crazy?

It could be. But, just to be safe, shutdown your computer and that should fix your problem.

What spyware/adware/virus scanner are you using on a regular basis?

Do you have a cordless phone, or wireless keyboard/mouse that could be causing interference?

Yes I have a cordless phone in my room and a cellphone, but I wouldn't see how those would be the causes as I've had them for a while. This is a recent problem.

I use AVG, Spybot, and Ad-aware every other day. I'm clean. *shrugs*

Try those speakers on another computer. If the problem persists, throw them in the trash. Also try different speakers on this computer. You'll soon know where the problem is.

Cellphones will do that, have you tried moving it away?

I have had similar problems with speakers but unfortunately the morse-code like beeping will still happen even if I have the speakers off. I've also had the noise come out of my alarm clock and my suround sound systyem (only sub-woofer that I know of). Is it really caused by a cell phone?
