Windows XP/Hardware problem
« on: February 01, 2006, 11:37:30 AM »
Hi all,

a friend spilled diluting juice into a Packard Bell laptop.  The machine still "works" - ie, can load Windows XP but only log in as a Guest.

The problem is that the keyboard is almost completely ruined.  I can't start it in Safe Mode and can't get it to change the boot sequence to force it to boot from a CD.

Any suggestions.

thanks in advance
Gordon

See if you can at least get your hands on the same laptop model and   have the hard drive installed to it. have your data backed up from it then ya gunna probably need a new laptop unless your local repair shop can fix it. Actually first thing to try is a USB keyboard and mouse plugged into it.

    Bad idea to spill stuff into laptops.  :o :o :o :o :o

USB peripherals are your only solution it seems. Let us know how it turns out.  ;)
