    Laptop can’t see wifi
    « on: January 25, 2021, 06:58:55 AM »
Hi. I have a problem connecting my laptop to new wifi router. I have Lenovo IdeaPad S12 and everything worked fine till I bought the router (D-Link AC1200) and tried to connect my laptop to the internet. Wifi network doesn’t show up on my laptop. Firstly I thought that it’s the fault of the router but my smartphone detects it with no problem. The laptop still sees neighbors’ networks.
Here are router’s and laptop’s specs

Do you know what’s wrong with it? tia

Your Laptop only supports 802.11b/g wireless standard the new router supports 802.11ac I suggest if you need to use wireless at home ie you can't use an ethernet cable then you look for a usb wireless adapter which supports  802.11ac standard.

I don't have a goolge account, but people with D-link routers have been helped via the link https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/internet.  I stick ewith Netgear routers and Alfa wifi adapters for Linux, myself.
