    « on: May 17, 2021, 12:38:48 PM »
    Hi,

New user needs some help with W10. Is this possible?

Altho I'm new to this forum, I have been heavily involved as an operations/project mgr W/2FF 500 companies & have been using PC's from the VIC 20 to my current Asus gaming laptop , installed W10 & re-engineered the desktop to meet my needs. My background is in Busn, not tech per say. And I'm 81, handicapped confined to a wheelchair.

I only included the above info to give you some background info.  Please let me know if this forum would be able to help a guy with limited tech skills?

I'm sorry, but I selected to images [>450 KB] to post but they didn't show up on the Preview selection??

      Patio,

Right now I have to some serious transferring frm my laptop to 25 GB Blu-Ray Plex Discs. I have a Super Slim Drive-USB30, SN:ODP95-SU3 plugin DVD, Blu-Ray Drive. I use  the free version Ashampoo Burning Studio. It copied files to the discs, but when I checked the disc, I found a section with files that indicated they needed to be "copied to the disc"?  I selected all files to copy but those files didn't copy. The same thing happened when earlier I copied files to a DVD-RW?

Sent copies of the error to Ashampoo wks ago. Response was they were busy. Ive used Ashampoo free burning SW for yrs with  no problems with CD's, DVD's.

I would upload images in my orig post but they didn't show up when I selected the "preview" link to no avail.
Also when I responded to your email & landed on a screen with "NO REPLY", spent some time looking around & landed here?

      Best Regards,

      klxdrt

PS: I usually take screen shots or pix of the errors so I can Post "the rest of the story."  Any help or assistance would be helpful to me.

That is a CD-RW/DVD-RW Drive. it is not capable of either reading or writing Blu-Ray discs. That would explain trouble you might have writing to the 25GB Blu-Ray disc. It is not possible for that drive to write to them.

This is part of Windows built-in burning support. You can copy and paste files "onto the disc" and they get saved in a special location and tagged as being ready to burn. When you view the contents of the disc drive, you will see these files as well. You can delete those files from the disc, and they will no longer appear as "ready to burn".

          Hi,

See attached image of the front of the drive & the drive label. I don't know if it will clear up the Blu-Ray authenticity. If it's not Blu-Ray compatible, I'll ask for $refund or new REAL Blu-Ray burner.

Have you ever been able to view or burn to Blu-Ray Discs using the drive?

My concern is that when I search up the model number, I find it associated only with DVD-RW burner drives, such as this one.

Now, I did find This item which claims to be blu-ray but the reviews suggest it is false advertising and doesn't work with Blu-Ray drives. (The 5 star reviews could be paid reviews by the seller in this case).

It's possible that you may have been scammed in the same way. It may be a DVD-RW burner with a swapped faceplate. You'd want to confirm it can see the contents of a Blu-Ray disc (or recognize that a blank disc is present) to verify that it is actually Blu-Ray compatible.

            BC_Programmer,

Thanks for your fast response & patience with me. I just had to move from my small house in Ocean Co to a very small mother in law appt in our daughters house 35 mi away.  And we had less than 3 day's notice. I apologize for any problems I caused on this forum.

The  Blu-Ray disc I recorded was lost the in the move. Now today I got same updates & they couldn't be installed, my wife closed the laptop screen during update.  I will copy files to a Blu-Ray tonite & post to you send some images tomorrow.

                Hi,

I think my Blu-Ray problem is solved.

I ditched Ashampoo burning SW free, replaced with Burnware Free. In NY minute I burned them to a Blu-Ray disc.
                See uploaded image below
