    « on: July 16, 2021, 08:47:12 PM »
I downloaded Libre office today, wrote a letter, then when went to send it, it said I must create an association in the default programs control panel. I tried, but from there I am completely lost, can anyone help? I get as far as opening the default apps. thanks'

What app do you use to send emails?  Once you open the default apps control panel, select email then find your email program in the list and select it, that will set your default mail app.

You could also try sending it as a file attachment.

You could probably install a different email client that would work with Libre Office.  For instance, I use the Thunderbird email client and it works fine with Libre.

Also, as mentioned by SuperDave above, you could just save the letter as a document on your computer then open your email app and create an email and then attach the letter/document before sending.

Dumping Libre' is certainly no solution...
You needed to select Gmail in the drop down list...not google.

I assumed the OP dumped the gmail app, not Libre.  Not sure now.

OP - Are you using an email client app or are you accessing gmail via the web browser?  If accessing via web browser, it will not work.

There was no Gmail in the drop down box, Thanks for your help  but I have  uninstalled it, lost patience with it. I am not nearly as clued up as you guys.
