I have a MITSUMI CD-ROM. FX 810s-1B
I put a cd in to run and load on my computer, everything worked okay but now I cannot open and remove the CD. Anyone know what to do, I need help.

if you look at the cdrom drive you should find a pin-hole.... normally next to the eject switch if you poke something like a paper-clip or pin in the hole it will eject your stuck cd...or eject the cdrom by right-clicking on the cdrom icon....eject...

Thanks, I tried all that. I finally took the hard drive out and found that the manual release was not working. I goy the disc out okay but the drive is not working. Is it possible to get a drive fixed or is it better to replace it.

Replace. It would cost more to repair than the price of a new one.

I have half a dozen CD-ROM drives in my closet, find someone local that tinkers with computers, you'll probably get a free one. :D

At the MarketPro PC shows in my area, you can get working CDROM readers for $10 (usually a 32X or 48X) and writers for $20 to $30 (16x, 20x, 32x CDR-write) plus $15 or so for a copy of Nero or Roxxio. Or you can go online and pay $60 to $120 for the latest thing in Plextor CD-RW/DVD or DVD+RW...
