How to pick a USB Bluetooth Adapter
    « on: February 28, 2006, 04:44:00 PM »
Does anybody have any info on how to pick a USB Bluetooth Adapter?  I see price ranges from $20 to $80.  The more expensive seem to have security added, which I think would be important.  It will be used in my home.  Right now, I only have my bluetooth phone, but of course as the market expands, I want to be prepared.

Does USB 1.1 or 2.0 compliant speed up data transmission?

    Do I need security?

Some devices have more powerful tranmissions.  I can't think of any reason that would I need to transmit out to 300 feet.

    Any other featurs to consider?

Would there be a better/different forum to ask this under?

USB 2 has a much higher transmission rate.

Yes, but does it matter with Blue Tooth?  Does Blue Tooth transmission rate approach the USB 2.0?
