My Broadband connects automatically

My broadband keeps connecting automatically,is there anything I can do so that it connects only when I tell it to?

Sure, assuming you have Windows XP, click on Start -> Network and Network Connections -> Network Connections -> find the active connection your broadband is using, and right-click on it and select Disable. You can just re-enable it whenever you feel like it.
