Hey everyone,
From what I've read, as far as RAID 0 unstability goes...if she goes down, she really goes down. WHich isn't what I've been experiencing...
For no reason, lately my computer has done these crashes to a black screen. All of the components, fans, and drives are still active, but my screen blinks and goes to black sometimes. This is happening more and more when I boot up my computer. The BIOS posts, and then as I'm about to load windows it goes to blackscreen and doesn't recover. When I DO get into Windows, it holds its own 90% of the time.
At first it might be the RAID 0 w/ two SATA150 W.D. drives because I isntalled it about 4 months ago and read that some said they were unstable...But the posts here look like if its unstable, it all goes to *censored* and you need to reformat and such and thats not my case.
So my second conclusion is its the mobo. It's an Asus P4S800D-X. ( I originally bought it to rebuild my Dell so I didn't want to spend a lot of cash, it was about $60. Later, I read that the SiS(964?) northbridge chip wasn't a reputable one and was unstable (as I discovered that my board couldn't handle much OC'ing)
SO...my question is if this behavior sound like a mobo problem, and is my cheap board/chip the cause of it?
PS - The RAID controller I'm using is the onboard SiS chip on the mobo (another reason to have worry)
