Stop Error OX0000007B, Can anyone help?
« on: March 21, 2006, 02:35:39 PM »
Hello, I keep getting a stop error OX0000007B whenever I try to boot up. I can't get into safe mode or use last good configuration. I can get into the BIOS by hitting del key, can this be fixed from there? or can I at least fix it to get past the blue screen from here? The only thing I did was run Housecall because I was having problems with programs opening and closing by theirselves and thought it to be some kind of virus, so ran housecall antivirus and there was some infected files in adaware, removed infected files and was working just fine, then after sitting idle for a few minutes it went into stop error OX0000007B. Blue Screen.  I'm using my labtop now. Please help if anyone can.

Thanks

Thank you for your reply. I have been reading that link or microsoft page all day and still can't figure out what to do, since I can't get into safe mode or get past the blue screen. Can you point out what or which approach I shoud use?

Are any onboard or add-in NICs installed? If so, disable/remove them and soak test for a while.

This is the biggest problem you've listed. You will need a Windows CD sooner or later. In your case it is sooner.  :'(

Backdated?

When you say onboard do you mean the ethernet card inside the computer. I have no nic add ins. All my computers are networked together. Soak? Should I remove the one inside my computer and let set and put back in?

GX1_MAN: I know. Thanks

Trouble:

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but i believe it is a boot sector virus.  See if one of your friends has a Windows 2000 CD you can borrow and we will explain how to fix the boot sector using the Repair Console on the CD.

Your only other alternative is to use some sort of rescue disks created by your anti-virus program, or the anti-virus program CD, to scan the computer for viruses and fix the boot sector.

Hi people, i seem to have a similar problem but on Windows XP. It keeps giving me a hardware malfunction with the blue screen. I can't boot normally and when i try safe mood, it stops after loading mup.sys from the system32 folders. I tried removing all hardwares except the hard disk but it wouldn't go. I tried booting with another windows xp hard disk and i still have the same problem. Help people
