What happened prior to all of this? Are you th eonly one using the machine? Any monkeying inside the case or excursions into the BIOS?

Hello!

It just came up with a blue screen on the monitor - it said something about checking the physical harddrive - but if I hadn't see this screen before to rebot the computer. So I just restarted this.

It's my computer I use with my children. We were only on msn messenger when the blue screen came up.

I have never opened up the harddrive - And never done anything more than check emails and surf the net on it!

Thanks

Mary

The good news is that it could be bad or ill fitted memory. :(
The bad news is that it could be a failed motherboard. :'(
