A question about making screen captures/wallpaper
« on: April 03, 2006, 06:49:05 PM »
I will be getting a new computer in the next couple of months.  I would like to try my hand at creating screen captures and wallpaper.  Do you have any advice that you can give me, I’m just a beginner?  What would be the best program to get, etc.  I plan on using DVDs as well as stuff I record from TV to DVD on my recorder, my computer will have a DVD Rom as well.

So let me get this straight, you want to just take still screenshots of movies and make them your desktop wallpaper?

Hitting the Print Screen button during a movie will produce a big black box. I suggest looking around for DVD-playing software that includes a "capture screen" function. Unless I'm mistaken, PowerDVD is capable of this, as well as others as well. :)

Press the Print Screen Button, and go to Microsoft Paint. Click on Edit -> Paste ...

Wait, that works? I always got a big black box... hmm. Must be because I upgraded. Ah well, I know I had problems with it before. Please ignore my above post...

You should only see a black box with movies. Averything else should work.
