Check For BadSectors

i got a hdd(it's controller is Sata) that is used ,i want to know if it has badsectors or not,the scan disk of winxp checks the partitions
but it doesn't give me report that either the hadd has badsectors or not
what should i do?

Windows Explorer.  Right-click the hard drive.  Choose Tools.  Under error-checking, click Check Now...
