i am using hp compaq laptop with windows xp. for few days i am not hearing dialing tone of modem when i try to connect internet thro dial-up connection. i have maximised the sound in modem properties. so please help.

ya, it does connect. no problem in internet connection.

Some voice/fax modems share audio with the audio card. Any issues there?

the dialing sound before was coming, but i want to know why it stopped. as such there is no problem without it.
