Toshiba pro 4600

Hi Everyone..

I hope you can help me..

I have a Toshiba pro 4600 windows 2000.  

I try to turn my laptop on and all i get is

The on button Light (Green)
The cable light (Green)
The battery light (amber)

There is no noise at all when i switch it on.  

Can anyone tell me what is its problem...

Is the light on the battery supposed to be amber? How old is the battery?
