Windows system restore

Hi Can anyone tell me how to make my system restore work on Windows XP. It is turned on.   It goes through the restore point program then sayes no changes made, try another restore point.  This happens on my desktop Compaq machine also my Toshiba laptop Thanks for any help :-?

It should make random checkpoints at least once a day... Do you want to make your own checkpoint?

hi Flame My computer does make the save points it just will not use them, it goes through all the motions then sayes could not save at this point try another save, which doesn't work either HELP

So when you try to use one of the computer's own save checkpoints, what happens exactly? Does the restoration just fail? When you try to make your own it says that it cannot be done at this time?

It couldn't due to an infection of some sort could it? Perhaps Google may be of service.

Good morning Flame  When i try to restore the computer, appears to go through all the motions of restoring including restart,, then message sayes could not restore at this time please try another restore point, I havent actually tried to make my own restore point so will try this.  Thanks for help.  Also thanks to other members trying to help Will let you know outcome :-?

    Try making a change then trying a previous restore point, see if it goes back.
