cursor has a life of it's own
« on: April 23, 2006, 07:07:12 PM »
When I'm in excel the cursor keeps moving all they way to colum a and in word it just randomly moves all the way to the left. It happens both when i'm not doing something or when i'm typing. All of a sudden half of the word will be where I want it and then I notice that i'm back at the begining of the line

Is there anyway to fix this
Joan

    1. Do any of your keys get stuck?
    2. Did any liquid get near the keyboard?

Just covering the obvious to start.

I thought it was the keyboard at first but I still had the problem when the keyboard was unhooked from the computer.

      1. Is this a USB keyboard?
1a. If not, you did shut down before unplugging, right?

        ....after you restart it.....

That's pretty impatient, if you have time to post a note in a forum, but not a reboot.  ::)
