Quick n00b Question (DIMM slot compatability)
« on: May 09, 2006, 04:42:39 PM »
When a motherboard's DDR standard is DDR 400, for example, will lower DDR (i.e. DDR333) standards also function?  Are any backwards compatable?

Usually that is not a problem. YOu might want to check at www.crucial.com to see exactly what memory will work with your specific motherboard.

THe RAM will run at the slowest speed present. I have an AMD processor running 2 RAM one 400 and one 333 without incident, but they run at 333.  ;)
