access violation 0xc0000005

My children have an older computer running win2000.They are having problems with Cake Mania.
When they attempt to play, it says access violation0xc0000005(error 487)stackwalk failed.This is
is the only game they are having difficulty with.I have not seen this error before and do not know
how to fix it.All drivers are up to date.I visited the sandlot site and it appears other people have
had the same problem.Can any one help?
