my IE history is empty

Can anyone know this problem?
Im using IE6 xp sp2
Before the history of my IE6 is always according to date and alphabetical and keeps for 2 weeks on the left side
but few days ago i notice that when i click the "history" button of my IE6, on the left, i only saw is a folder "History.IE5" only containing index (dat) file
can any knows how to fix it back same before?

You might have inadvertently clicked the option to empty the temp folder:

In IE6 click, Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced

Scroll down to "Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder When Browser Closed"

Make sure it's unclicked.

Have you run any cleaning programs like ccleaner?
I wipe my history all the time, I don't need to know where I've been, only where I'm going.

Yes i have ccleaner, but im running it 3x a week
And i notice that even im using IE, the history still empty at the same time (only a folder name "History.IE5"
And when ccleaner analyze i cant see anything from IE history

Ccleaner will remove your history but you can configure it not to.
You will need to look at the ccleaner screen.

actually i tried already that thing (untick the history but still same problem)

Check in IE>Tools>Internet Options>History... how many days is it set for?
Also try not using ccleaner for a couple of days & see if your history builds up.

and i tried not running CCLEANER for a couple of days, but the same results

i got the following message in another forum
I use IE6 & win XP but when i try to view history,I am directed toa folder History IE5 located at C:\Program Files\surfghost\temp\history .Instead of showing me the web pages i have visited,I am shown only the folder which has a file named index(with an wmp icon)

really same problem but there is no solution in that forum

Is your history file even on your computer?
Look for it... C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\[highlight]index.dat[/highlight]
Have you re-booted?

Yes FED, actually thats only what i can see (\History.IE5\index.dat)  in left panel when i click history button in my IE6
i tried already sytem restore, adjust date but still same problem
i tried already in GOOGLE and in other forum but with no luck

reboot
now works
Thanks for all the help, hopefully this thread will help others, because i read so many other forum but no solution i got
