If you're thinking of uninstalling Norton, you're better off just reformating.

    I agree Flame, formatting is the only way to get rid of Norton completely.

    I have three anti-virus programs, two anti-spyware programs, a firewall, a privacy service and have not had any problems.

    I uninstalled Norton without dificulty.

    If you are having difficulty removing Symantec Antivirus/Norton, download the program RNAV from the www.symantec.com website to completely remove it. (Or so I would think) After that, you can go delete the files yourself if they have not been completely removed.

    avast! Anti-virus has a feature that will let you remove files that are in use (it requires you to eventually restart your computer on your own) so those pesky viruses and even some adware/spyware that hide out in System Restore can be removed without a problem.
