« on: May 15, 2006, 05:24:06 AM »
Hi all!  :D

Nice to be member here.

I have got a problem. I just bought new PC. But sound is working.

PC says sound driver is working fine.. and Media player plays music fine... but no sound is coming out?

my Speaker (i also tried Headphone) has no problem. Driver is installed. What do u think is the problem? my Motherboard is SOYO (model: SY-A9N4E2) .. i'm from Mongolia... and i think this SOYO brand is Chinese!

Any solution? thanks in advance!

Hmmm, if no sound is coming out, how can you be sure "Media player plays music fine"?

You have no sound but you say that your speaker has no problem.  How do you know that?

You message is full of illogical statements, isn't it?!

Sorry my english is not that good. Im just trying to describe the problem.  :-[

1. I don't know the problem (if i knew would i be asking?)
2. I used Windows Media Player, and it plays MP3 songs without any error? (u know, it plays file?) but i can't HEAR?
3. My speaker works fine with other devices (like my MD player)

All i mean is my Speaker is fine, my PC recognized the sound driver, but no sound is coming out! i can't hear anything?

Do you understand now?  ;D

Open your volume control panel to see whether the box for Mute is checked for any types of sound input.  If so, uncheck the box.

I reinstalled the driver, but still now sound!  :-/

Here is the image of my motherboard (i made it myself so ... ::) )

Nothing is connected to this "audio" "thing" (i dont know what its called)

But it has nothing to do with onboard sound device right? My onboard sound device has 6 ports, but none works when i plugin speaker!

Access your CMOS Setup Utility so that you can see your BIOS settings and check to see whether onboard sound is disabled there.  If it is, change it to Enabled and save the settings.

And, by the way, since this is a new PC, are you entitled to some tech support for a limited time?

Contact the manufacturer. What make and model?
