internet connection

I bought a used CPU and tried to get on to the internet through my AOL account and also Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer said page unavailable, would not get me onto any internet sites, AOL said it recognized my DSL but could not connect to it...
I am now on my other CPU and internet works just fine...what is wrong with the other CPU???

You're going to have to post a few more details. By CPU, I assume you mean computer, so some details of that as well as your operating system, connection, ISP are what is needed.
