Find Target Problem in W98
« on: September 01, 2004, 12:49:44 PM »
On right clicking a shortcut and choosing Find Target the action hangs.  I have found no help so far on the MS Knowledge base.  Thanks.

It happens on all shortcuts.  It is a useful facility that is lost although I have installed a small Copy Path utility that is helping locate files meanwhile.

Not tried that, thanks for your interest in this problem.  However, before I click on your link where exactly will it take me?

m$oft website if it does load click the refresh button on the top taskbar.....a snippet from it >How to Reinstall Windows
To reinstall Windows:
Start Windows, and then insert the Windows 98 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
Click Browse This CD, and then double-click Setup.exe.
Follow the instructions to complete the Windows Setup procedure      you have some kind of widows explorer fault unless you have scan for bugs and wish to use find target as...^^then this maybe an option?or scanreg/fix or scanreg/restore command at the prompt...
