down loading mini dvd-ram to my computer

i have an hitachi ma730 dvd-ram video camera.  when i place the dvd-ram in my computer the computer doesn't recognize the dvd-ram in the drive (like nothing is there). is there a driver or hardware that i can get to resolve this?

Do you know for a fact that your DVD ROM drive can recognise DVD RAM?  Many can't.
