acpi laptop fan

I have a panasonic cf-71 laptop at 600mzh. When I loaded xp on it now my cooling fan doesn't work. I runs till the logon screen in windows, then nada.  :'( :'( How can I keep from frying my laptop? ???

You better not run it at all until you have solved the fan issue, the heatsink maybe provide some cooling but a too great amount of heat will (or it may allready have) damage(d) your CPU.
