I suggest you avoid a hosting service that requires you to pay for a year to get started.  By paying month-by-month, at least until you get some experience with a particular host and are satisified with them, you won't be locked in to something you're not satisfied with.  Agreeing to a multi-month contract can result in average lower monthly cost, but you can explore that option after you get some experience with a particular host and are satisified with them.

Here's one I'll suggest: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/.  I use it and have been satisfied with it.

      Hmmm, http://www.mbhosting.com/about.php says "MB Hosting launched on June 13th, 2006."  That's less than 1 month and you're saying "Nothing els beats it".  Would care to explain the basis of your comment?

      Visit http://www.mbhosting.com/about.php and note that "MB Hosting requires is that you post our Google Adsense ads on every one of your pages."  This may be fine, but at least you should be aware of that before making your decision.

        No doubt, they do.  Otherwise, how could they offer truly free hosting?  If that's OK with the website publisher, then no problem.  However, ad-free hosting can be obtained at fairly low cost, around $4 or possibly lower, per month.

          yoursite.com, or yoursite.net, or yoursite.org, etc.  The top level domain, the letters after the dot, depend on what doman name you register with a domain registrar, a step you must take before you can publish a site.  To register a domain name, I suggest godaddy.com.

          I use totalchoicehosting.com for a site; I use their basic plan, which is $4/mo.  For more hosting services at this price level, see http://www.findmyhosting.com/searchresults.asp?page=1&op=1&ty=1&sid=1311954

                You need to setup a forum using phpbb or similar.

                First you need to have a domain name and then hosting, Once those are up and running you can then upload the forum.

                  AFAIK all you do is design the forum and then upload it to your site.

                      With many hosting services, you simply install your forum from your website cPanel (control panel).  No need to download anything to your computer.  The entire installation, configuration, and administration of the forum is done via web browser access to the cPanel for installion and then to the forum Adminstration panel for configuring your forum.

                      http://www.3essentials.com/windows-web-hosting.asp specifically mentions phpBB as one of the features under the Starter plan right on their home page.  So, I'm sure they provide a way to install from your cPanel.  It's easy to do.  And, why not use phpBB if that's what they provide?  It's good.

                              b) There is no link to the forum, If there is no link people can't find it.

                              c) Its totally basic and doesn't look like it was created by someone who can use any of those programs.

                              If I was you I would just use a basic template, Its simple but does the job.

                              Not sure if this is your first time doing this type of thing, If it is then i don't mean to put you down or put you off progressing any further, Sorry if i rude, harsh, sarcastic or offensive etc, I don't mean to be and I just like to tell people exactly what i think, The same as i like others to tell me exactly what they think.

                                    so it should look like this:

                                      As you see the blue line

                                      <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "" target="_blank">http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
                                      <html xmlns="" target="_blank">http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
                                      <head>
                                      <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
                                      <title>Untitled Document</title>
                                      <meta name="something" content="beer, fighting, sex, weed, drugs" /> </head>

                                      you have to insert the line that is colour blue in where it is place at the top of the code document
                                      as you see it should look like that /\

                                      <meta name="something" content="beer, fighting, sex, weed, drugs"/>
                                      You call it what you want
                                      you can include the content which where you think the user is going to type the world in the search engine like i include beer, fighting, sex etc...
