Look in Device Manager under hard drives and see what is shown there.

Turn off the Caps Lock key and then look under Disk Drives. Take your time.

still cant find anything like sata under driverts, it just says ACPImulti processer??????????????....s

You are looking in the wrong place then.

Let's try something else. Download and run Belarc Adviser (free at www.belarc.com) Look on the left side near the top and it will identify your hard drive by manufacturer and model number.

HI THERE , I HAVE D/LOADED BELARC, ITS EXCELLENT , THE ONLY TIME I SEE THE ACRONYM SATA IN BUS ADAPTERS , IT SAYS "VIA SATA RAID CONTROLLER, IS THAT THE EVIDENCE TO SAY THAT MY PC HAS A SATA DRIVE ,CHEERS

Look under hard drive and see the manufacturer and model number. Then look it up on the hard drive maker's site or post it here. We have been at thie waaaaaay to long already.  ::)

    You should also scan your computer for the 'CAPS LOCK VIRUS'.

      ^ lol. but i understand how frustrating it is to have a problem that just wont go away. i had to wait 2 weeks for my brand new comp to work, then 3 days later the hd died. man i was pissed.
