Can somone please tell me, if there is a big increase in performance running 2 graphics cards in SLI. Does it improve 3d games and stuff. I have a Geforce 7800 but was looking to get another if there is a big ingrease in performance. Does it mean i will be able to up my resolution in games.

Theoretically yes. In real life mixed results. It is an expensive way to go. Perhaps there are other bottlenecks in your system that could be addressed.

Ive Got a Geforce 7950 GX-2 which is basically 2 Cards in one Port SLI'ed

And frankly , its not that much on an improvement at the moment there are no games that Truly support SLI there are a few coming out , Like Supreme Commander, but that wont USE sli , it will actually Use each GFX card separately to give you 2 displays..

I expect that the games that come out later this year will have better SLI results
